Environmental Commitment

At Tang Technology, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance
as an integral part of our business strategy and operating methods.

Tang Technology recognises its responsibility to the environment beyond the legal and regulatory requirements.
We operate fully in the cloud, maintain very minimal on premise infrastructure and aim to as “paper-free” as possible.

We are passionately committed to reduce our carbon emissions that we already produce over 90% of our power needs from the sun and other alternative energy sources.
Our Tesla battery storage system captures the energy that we generate, which powers our entire office, data centre, heating and cooling systems when the sun does not shine.
We provide electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities at our office, free of charge to our customers and public, again all the energy produces has come from non fossil fuel generation facilities.

Any additional power which we do not use, store in our batteries or provide to electric vehicle charging is then provided back into the power grid.
To further reduce the demand on our traditional power generation systems, at peak generation capacity we produce over 210kwh per day

We actively work towards setting a leading example in our industry in reducing the impact of our activities and encouraging others to do the same.

Our policy guides our selection criteria of products, services and activities within Tang Technology
and is a key mechanism to assist us in reducing our Greenhouse Gas emissions.
Our policy underpins our objectives of being an environmentally responsible business and we
work consistently with our stakeholders to continually and collectively reduce our environmental footprint.

RESPONSIBILITY

Tang Technology is responsible for ensuring that the environmental policy is implemented.
However, all Tang Technology employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met.

We endeavour to:

PAPER

Minimise the use of paper in the office.
Reduce packaging as much as possible.
Seek to buy recycled and recyclable paper products.
Reuse and recycle all paper where possible.

TRANSPORTATION

Reduce the need to travel, restricting to necessity trips only.
Promote the use of travel alternatives such as e-mail or video/phone conferencing.
Make additional efforts to accommodate the needs of those using public transport or bicycles.
Commitment to use Tesla electric Vehicles
Provide Free of Charge Tesla electric vehicle charging facilities for Tang customers and the general public.

ENERGY AND WATER

Reduce the amount of energy used as much as possible.
Switch lights and electrical equipment off when not in use.
Adjust heating and cooling with energy consumption in mind.
Take into account the energy consumption and efficiency of new products when purchasing.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

Cleaning materials used will be as environmentally friendly as possible.
Use materials in office refurbishment that are environmentally friendly as possible.
Use licensed and appropriate organisations to dispose of waste.

OFFICE SUPPLIES

Evaluate if the need can be met in another way.
Evaluate if renting/sharing is an option before purchasing equipment.
Evaluate the environmental impact of any new products we intend to purchase.
Favour more environmentally friendly and efficient products wherever possible.
Reuse and recycle everything we are able to.

CULTURE

Involve staff in the implementation of this policy, for greater commitment and improved performance.
Update this policy at least once annually in consultation with staff and other stakeholders where necessary.
