The Vigor2762 Series is VDSL2/ADSL2+ modem/router with Firewall and VPN integrated. It provides 1 RJ-11 WAN port for connecting to xDSL line directly, the embedded xDSL modem is compatible with all the common VDSL and ADSL modulations. On the LAN side is a 4-port 10/100/1000Base TX LAN RJ-45 switch, of which the 4th port can be configured as a WAN port for an Ethernet WAN connection (e.g. NBN FTTP, FTTC, HFC, Direct Wireless, Satellite, etc.). This Ethernet WAN can also be a backup link for the xDSL connection. The 2 USB ports can house 3G/4G USB modems as another option for WAN connectivity.

The 2762 Series comes with four models: Vigor2762, Vigor2762n (with 802.11n Wi-Fi built-in), Vigor2762ac (with 802.11ac Wi-Fi built-in), and Vigor2762Vac (with VoIP function and 802.11ac Wi-Fi built-in).

Firewall & Security

Vigor2762 Series supports Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) Firewall and flexible filtering rules, it can accept or deny packets based on the information in the packet header (such as source IP, destination IP, protocol, and port number) or the packet’s application. IP-based restrictions can be set to filter certain HTTP traffic as well as various application software and help you to prevent time and network resource wasting on inappropriate network activities.

With an annual subscription to CYREN Web Content Filtering service, you may also filter the websites by their categories, and set up restrictions to block the whole categories of websites (such as Social Networking, Gambling.. etc.) without the need to specify every site you would like to block. The CYREN service is constantly updating the categorization, and a free 30-day trial is included in every new router.

Secure Remote Access

Vigor2762 Series is a perfect solution for teleworkers who need a secure remote access to the business network, or for branch offices which need a secures connection to the main office network. It offers 2 concurrent VPN tunnels which are compliant with all the industrial-standard protocols, including IPsec, L2TP over IPsec, and SSL VPN, and comprehensive authentication methods are supported. DrayTek also provides the official license-free VPN client software, the Smart VPN Client.

Optimizing Bandwidth Allocation

Vigor2762 Series supports bandwidth management that helps you to make the most of out of the limited bandwidth. You may set up Bandwidth Limit or Session Limit to restrict the maximum bandwidth or session number that a host can use, thus to prevent the bandwidth and the router’s resources being occupied by a single host. Quality of Service (QoS) allows you to reserve a certain amount of bandwidth for the critical clients or time-sensitive applications, and ensure their connection quality when traffic is heavy. You may classify both inbound and outbound traffic into up to 4 queues, and allocate a certain amount of bandwidth for each of the queues, there is also a simple option for Vigor2762 Series to automatically detect the VoIP traffic and classify them into the additional top priority queue, therefore to ensure good VoIP quality even if the network traffic is busy.
